Knott's Berry Farm is 160 acre amusement park located in California.It is famed as the first themed park in the United States and the 12th most visited amusement park in the country.The founder's, Walter and Cordelia Knott relocated to the site of the amusement park in 1920 and successfully built a restaurant, now known as the, Mrs.Knott's "Chicken Dinner Restaurant" which was the foundation of the park.The park was developed at the beginning to cater for guests who were waiting to dine at the restaurant but later grew into one of the most famous parks in the United States.It was acquired in 1997 by Cedar Fair, L.P.Knott's Berry Farm consists of six themed park areas, each built with a special theme in mind for the enjoyment of visitors.The themed areas include the Ghost Town, Fiesta Village, Roaring 20's, Camp Snoopy, Wild Water Wilderness and Indian Trails.Ghost Town was the first of Knott's Berry Farms' themed areas which was built in 1940.Roaring 20's which was developed in 1975 was rethemed in 1996 and renamed The Boardwalk.Camp Snoopy, the fourth themed area to be developed debuted as the world's first themed park "land" developed especially for children.Camp Snoopy, a six-acre land area was developed in 1983 and by 1993 all six themed areas has been developed and were up and running.A lot of events are ongoing throughout the year in Knott's Berry Farm.Specific events and shows are scheduled at specific times of the year.For example, the Knott's Scary Farm Haunt is an event that is always held prior to Halloween.August usually sees the Rock Band Live concert and the Sunday Champagne Break which sees a champagne brunch held for kids at five dollar per head is also featured during this time.Different people from different areas of the country and beyond visit this famous park day in day out.Thus, the Knott's Resort Hotel which is located adjacent to the farm is always busy with visitors and tourists.A lot of fun activities are always on show at the Knott's Berry Farm.Children and adults alike are thrilled with the various activities and shows the park has to offer.Different forms of rides are available for kids and adults.Park rides such as roller coaster rides, water rides, different thrill rides and most notably the children's bus ride which takes children on a round trip through Camp Snoopy are available to thrill guests.Mrs.Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant is not far off and is located just adjacent to the park, providing much needed refreshments for guests.The shopping and restaurant area consist of fifteen shops and restaurants, all providing varied gift items and refreshments.The Knott's Berry Farm also admits birthday parties and you can give you kids the perfect birthday they have always dreamed of.Birthday bookings are made easier by an online booking service with all details and fees provided.Knotts Berry Farm is usually opened to the general public from 10am to 10 pm daily during the week with extensions to 11am on Saturdays in the summer.During the spring, autumn and winter periods, park hours are usually shorter spanning an average of eight hours from 10am to 6pm.Admittance is by ticketing and you have an option of buying one off tickets for just one day or season tickets spanning a season year.Season tickets are available in grades which include KBF season pass, gold pass and Cedar Fair platinum pass.
